Kindred Credit Union announces the HomeShare Mortgage

Kitchener, ON – Kindred Credit Union is pleased to introduce the HomeShare Mortgage, a viable alternative for many facing barriers to owning a home.

For many Ontarians, owning a home remains a key part of “the Canadian dream" and yet rising real estate prices are a major barrier to entering the housing market. Many regions of Ontario have experienced the steepest increase in housing prices in Canada. In Kitchener-Waterloo, home prices have risen 295% since 2005, which is 84% higher than the national average¹. These factors prove to be especially challenging for younger and new Canadians seeking to own a home.

In addition to pooling resources to help with the cost, joint mortgages can also help with the mortgage approval process and open up additional location options. To qualify, the home has to be owned by two or more parties, and at least one owner is required to live at the property. The HomeShare Mortgage is available across all term lengths.
