Kindred supports the Ontario Mennonite Relief Livestock

At Kindred Credit Union, we have decades of experience in working with farmers. So, it makes sense that Kindred supports the Ontario Mennonite Relief Livestock Sale each year. The Livestock sale supports the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) for relief and development work at home and around the world.

Each year, farmers donate livestock in a variety of categories to be auctioned off, such as dairy and beef cows, veal, sheep, and goats. Held at the Ontario Livestock Exchange on February 14 and 16, this year’s sale was a huge success. Fifty-one animals were donated, with a Holstein beef heifer topping the sale at $2,621! The highest dairy heifer fetched $2,225! With cash donations and business sponsorship, the livestock sale raised over $80,000 to support the breadth of MCC’s work – meeting urgent needs and building stronger, healthier, and more peaceful communities in Ontario and around the world.
